If you carry a chip on your shoulder people will pick up on it. I don't know, given a Wednesday night at an AOL drinking fest (every Wednesday when I lived there) it was all about people and not their color, religious affiliation, their quirks or anything.just people having fun. Denver is that much better in acceptance and despite what people think about Colorado Springs, Denver is that much more appreciative of others. I my life, in Colorado Springs now, I have a bevy of friends from pagans to Catholics to REBORN to gay/lesbian to who gives a care to anything else.

You just need to find a support system that will allow you to be you and not worry about the percieved crap that is part of any society. Heck I am finding that Colorado Springs is becoming more and more tolerant. When I lived up there, I couldn't find a place outside of Denver that dealt well with homosexual relationships than did Denver and such. You are over thinking this and if you think that Denver is somehow homophobic, you really need to get some (figurative) balls here. Most of them met by chance and not by some ad in a paper, Craig's List (which didn't exist then).ĭenver is very supportive, for the most part, of gay couples. Seriously, I met a lot of good and very grounded gay and lesbian couples while working in the tile business and I am hetero. Quit advertising your needs and get out there to meet people if you want to settle. When I worked for a tile company up in Denver, late 90s, we were a hub for gay and lesbian couples and it was near many of their homes so no problem with me. Look, Denver has a very strong gay and lesbian community and oddly enough so does Colorado Springs.perhaps you are advertising in the wrong places. I would be up against the same jerks in the hetero way. Seriously rethink how you intend to meet people. I am hitting 40 this year and gee, I am not a desirable 20 somthing with a hot bod and no wrinkles. Seriously, I am a single white straight chick, never done an ad and never will for the same reason as you should as ads only bring out the loonies or the intolerant. I'm seriously thinking about leaving Denver for good, just want to make sure im not in the minority about feeling this way.Īnd you put some kind of credance (sp) for the crap you have recieved? I actually had a guy answer my personal ad and said " Im not into N***ers they make me sick", never in my life have i never experienced that in my life. But it seems like every gay or bi guy only wants to date or be with white guys.

I lived in Denver for 2 years and i have really noticed that every personal ad reads "Must be White", and i know that every person have their preference.
